On 04/19/2024 AST contacted Chase Elder, age 22 of Wasilla, in Wasilla. Chase was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant (3PA-23-02335CR, O/C Misconduct involving controlled substances in the fifth degree) and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial.
Update- Following a search warrant of Elders vehicle, a new charge of Misconduct involving controlled substances in the fifth degree was referred to the DAO.

Location: Saint MichaelType: Burglary, Reckless EndangermentDispatch Text:
On April 14, 2024, Alaska State Troopers received a report from a Saint Michael teacher that the heating system in one of the teacher houses had been tampered with. Alaska State Troopers responded to the village and after an investigation discovered that Saint Michael resident Brian Walston had illegally entered the residence and tampered with the boiler causing the heat in the building to shut off during a winter storm. The building was occupied at the time by two teachers and two children. While the heat was turned off, the temperature in the building dropped into the 40s. On April 18, 2024, troopers arrested Walston and charged him with burglary 1, criminal mischief 5, and reckless endangerment.

On 04/18/2024 at approximately 2100 hours, Troopers were dispatched to 1165 Cripple Creek Rd about a domestic violence criminal mischief incident. Troopers' investigation determined that Kelley Nickolsen committed the crime of criminal mischief 3 dv. Troopers placed Kelley under arrest and transported him to FCC.

On March 1, 2024, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a sexual assault that occurred years ago. The Soldotna Major Crimes Unit took case responsibility and began a thorough investigation into the allegations. As a result of their investigation, Troopers determined that 23-year-old Kenai resident Lucas Demars-Meireis had sexually assaulted a female adult multiple times between 2020 and 2021. On April 18, 2024, Troopers arrested Demars-Meireis without incident and remanded him to Wildwood Pretrial on charges of Sexual Assault in the First Degree, Indecent Viewing or Photography, and Criminal Trespassing in the Second Degree. The investigation is active and ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.

In July of 2023, Alaska State Troopers received a report that, Seth Burchwell (27 years old of Fort Wainwright), had sexually abused a minor. Fairbanks ABI conducted an investigation into the allegations. On April 18, 2024, a Fairbanks Grand Jury indicted Burchwell on one count of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the 1st Degree and an arrest warrant was issued. On April 19, 2024, Fairbanks Patrol, with the assistance of Army CID, arrested Burchwell on his outstanding warrant and remanded him to FCC.
